Pennsylvania has over 1800 people on our mailing list! They represent 55 of our 67 counties, and range in age from high school students to retirees. The common thread we share is an open mindedness and curiosity to learn about people and views that are different from our own, and a desire to create a more unified country and Commonwealth, starting in our own communities.

If you haven’t participated in a workshop, check out this list of national events. You’ll see that many of our online workshops are open to anyone regardless of locale. As a new member, you’ll want to have a sense of the BA community and see skill-building in action. Participating in a workshop does this. Under the Calendar section, we keep a list of Pennsylvania-centric events, including events hosted by our Alliances.

Pennsylvania has a growing list of organizations wanting to host workshops, but we need more trained organizers and moderators to make them happen. Please consider training for one of these positions and know that once you have completed training, there is ongoing support to assist you. These trainings are conducted entirely by the national organization and can be completed at our your own pace. 

If you enjoy public speaking and are active in your community, you might want to train to become an ambassador and spread the word about Braver Angels. We often receive requests for speakers, and would love more people to cover the entire state. 

If you are a behind-the-scenes person, we also need people who can help with data, help to maintain the website, help to write our newsletter, fundraise, and work on other tasks. Contact Heather and Lindy for more information.

Alliances are groups of Braver Angels who want to keep the Braver Angels conversation going at the local level through a variety of events.  We currently have alliances in the Lower Susquehanna and Bloomsburg areas, but we’re looking to create alliances throughout the state. Contact Heather and Lindy, our state co-coordinators, if you’d like to help grow BA in your community.
